The Horse
When most people think of horses, they think of horse racing. While this is a ver popular sport and enjoyed by many it is only a small aspect of the story of the majestic horse. From the first time man saw a horse I am sure the thought of riding one was on his mind. Once accomplished man's ability to travel further and faster than on foot must have opened up the world in ways he never thought possible.
Types Of Horses
As the horse travelled through time with man it has become a diverse species to say the least. There are minature horses to the giant draught horse and nearly every size, shape and color inbetween. There are T/V stars, Mr Edd, to circus performing horses to show and racing horses. It seems if a need arose a horse was there to fullfill it.
A Horse As A Pet
While I am sure every young girl and boy dream of owning a horse it is usually not a good idea unless owning a horse has been thoughoroly investigate and here on the internet is a great place to start. Things to consider would be initial cost, type, size and cost of grazing plus running costs, i.e. extra feed, vet costs, shoeing and incidentals never mind saddles and bridles and the like.
Looking into the history of the horse is a very interesting adventure and well worth the effort. This amazing creature has, over time, not only allowed us to travel great distances but has entertained us made some of us alot of money and given great pleasure as any show pony owner will surely testify to. Though the horse has virtually been replaced by technology in most of its' former jobs I am sure they will be with us for many years to come and will always be in our dreams and thoughts of generations of children in the future. Thankfully we have enough people interested in the horse as is easily seen through the many forums out there that sharing the joy of them will continue for a long time I am ure.
